Ardnahoe Cask Strength Batch 2 is an Islay single malt from the young Ardnahoe distillery, bottled at 61% without chill-filtering or added colour. It matured for five years entirely in first-fill bourbon casks.
The spirit is peated to around 40 ppm, with barley malted at Port Ellen Maltings. The result is a maritime, peaty malt with plenty of fruit.
The nose combines sea salt, earthy peat smoke and rich cocoa. On the palate it is full and structured, with orchard fruit, herbal tea and salted caramel. The finish is smoky and long, with citrus and a lasting maritime peat character.
