Ardnahoe – Inaugural Release 2024 (70cl, 50%)

The first release from Ardnahoe, the Islay distillery that began production in 2018 and is owned by the Laing family. It is a limited edition peated single malt, made with barley from the Port Ellen Maltings at 40 ppm, and it is the distillery's first peated single malt. The whisky matured for five years in roughly 75% ex-bourbon and 25% ex-Oloroso sherry casks. It is bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and without added colour. The nose has shortbread, baked apples and Islay peat smoke. The palate adds vanilla custard, ginger and lemon zest, and the finish is long and smoky.
