Ardnahoe – Infinite Loch (50%)

This is the first core release from Ardnahoe, the Islay distillery. It takes its name from Loch Ardnahoe, the distillery's own water source, which lies a stone's throw away and is known locally as Islay's infinite loch because nobody knows how deep it goes. It was matured in a combination of first-fill bourbon and first-fill oloroso casks, and bottled at 50% ABV without chill-filtration or added colour. The nose brings sea spray, Islay peat and dark chocolate. Menthol, fresh fruit and bonfire notes show on the palate, and the finish is smoky and peppery.
