Ardnahoe – Infinite Loch (70cl, 50%)

Infinite Loch is the first core release from Ardnahoe Distillery on Islay, a single malt Scotch matured in a combination of bourbon and oloroso sherry casks. It is bottled at the distillery's preferred strength of 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle, without artificial colouring or chill-filtration. The name comes from Loch Ardnahoe, close to the distillery, which is said to be known on Islay as the 'Infinite Loch' because nobody knows the extent of its hidden depths. The nose combines sea spray, coastal peat, orange oil, salted lemons, malt biscuits and cocoa. The palate is sweet and salty, with menthol, fresh fruit and smouldering beach bonfire embers. The finish is rich with peat smoke and citrus, and a touch of peppery warmth.
