Ardnamurchan – AD/10 Year Old (70cl, 46.8%)

Ardnamurchan AD/10 is a 10-year-old Highland single malt, the distillery's first ongoing age statement. It comes from the remote distillery on the Ardnamurchan peninsula, owned by Adelphi and opened in July 2014 on the most westerly point of the British mainland. It is bottled at 46.8% in a 70cl bottle. The spirit is a vatting of 52% unpeated and 48% peated malt, matured 98% in ex-bourbon barrels and 2% in sherry casks. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. On the palate it is mouth-coating, with custard creams, vanilla wafer, brine and porridge oats over earthy smoke. The finish is warming and maritime, with the smoke lingering.
