Ardnamurchan AD is a cask-strength Highland single malt from the distillery on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula, bottled at 58.3% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The whisky combines peated and unpeated spirit. It was matured 90% in ex-bourbon casks and 10% in ex-sherry casks, both Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez. The 2024 release was distilled in 2016 and 2017, and carries no age statement.
The distillery describes coastal peat smoke, vanilla and bright citrus zest on the nose. The palate brings maritime peat, ripe orchard fruit, warm oak and gentle black pepper, followed by a lingering peaty finish with a touch of seaweed salinity.
