This is a single malt from Ardnamurchan, bottled at 52% in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in 2018 and matured first in ex-bourbon casks, then moved into Madeira casks just over two years ago, for a total maturation of just under seven years.
The spirit is a mix of roughly 60 per cent unpeated and 40 per cent peated malt. It is the distillery's second Madeira release, following one in autumn 2022, and the batch runs to around 19,000 bottles.
The official notes describe a nose of cocoa powder, stewed plums and bread and butter pudding, then a palate of cinnamon sweets, cedar bark and toffee apple. The finish is medium in weight, long, dusty and slightly drying.
