Ardnamurchan AD/ Peated Sauternes Cask is a Highland single malt made from 100% peated malted barley at the distillery on Scotland's west coast. It is bottled at 50% ABV, with natural colour and without chill-filtration.
The spirit spent about three years in ex-bourbon barrels, then was re-racked into ex-Sauternes barriques for roughly three and a half more years. The batch was made from 29 casks and yielded around 8,460 bottles.
The nose offers lime leaf, lemon balm, hay and shortbread with pineapple cake, peach cream and gentle peat smoke. The palate has nutmeg, dried ginger, orange blossom water, smoked honey and lemon meringue alongside maritime peat. The finish is spicy, with citrus sweetness, coastal smoke and oak spice.
