This is a peated single malt Scotch from Ardnamurchan, matured in a Sauternes cask. The distillery stands in coastal woodland on a peninsula on the west coast of Scotland and is owned by the independent bottler Adelphi.
Its power and heat come from local renewables: a biomass boiler and a hydroelectricity generator, both fuelled by woodchip from nearby forestry. The name Ardnamurchan translates as "Headland of the Great Seas".
