Ardnamurchan – AD/ Sherry Cask Release (70cl, 50%)

This is a no-age-statement Highland single malt from Ardnamurchan, made by marrying peated and unpeated whisky. It is bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and with natural colour. The whisky matured entirely in 21 sherry butts, 90% Oloroso and 10% Pedro Ximénez, and draws on casks from 2018 and 2019. Ardnamurchan has distilled on its peninsula since 2014, and each bottle carries a QR code linking to cask and supply-chain details. The nose brings Murray mint, bonfire smoke, salted peanut ice cream and Brazil nut, with a savoury depth of teriyaki and tamari. The palate is tarry, with smoky bacon, peanut brittle, red plum and cherry, and the finish carries sea salt and cigar smoke.
