Ardnamurchan AD/The Midgie 2026 Release is a Highland single malt from the independent Ardnamurchan distillery. It is the third edition of an annual summer bottling named after the Highland midge, and earlier editions were made with Smidge, the UK midge repellent brand.
The 2026 blend vats 28% peated and 72% unpeated spirit, matured in ex-bourbon barrels (34%), tawny port barriques (17%) and ruby port barriques (49%). It is bottled at 48% ABV, non-chill filtered and with natural colour.
The distillery describes a nose of red raspberry, golden syrup and cedar, a palate of gentle cigar smoke, bramble and pink peppercorn, and a finish of bitter orange and sea salt.
