Ardnamurchan – Heritage Barley Release (70cl, 59.2%)

Heritage Barley Release is a single malt from the Ardnamurchan distillery in the Scottish Highlands, presented in 2025. It is distilled from Golden Promise barley, a variety once standard in whisky making that has largely been replaced by higher-yielding types. The whisky was matured in ex-bourbon casks and bottled at 59.2% in a 70cl bottle. It is of natural colour and not chill-filtered, and the batch was limited to 10,290 bottles worldwide. Golden Promise is known for an intense aroma, and the whisky is described as fruity, creamy, sweet and complex.
