Ardnamurchan The Midgie is a limited Highland single malt, dedicated to the midges of the Scottish Highlands. Batch 3 was bottled in 2026 at 48%, without added colour and without chill-filtration, in a run of 9,742 bottles of 70cl.
It marries 34% bourbon barrels, 49% Ruby Port barriques and 17% Tawny Port barriques. The spirit is 72% unpeated and 28% peated, giving fruit alongside a light smokiness.
The nose shows red raspberry, golden syrup, cedar, violets, almond biscuits and preserved lemon. On the palate come cigar smoke, blackberry, lemon thyme, pink pepper, fig syrup, plum cake and nutmeg, ending in a long finish of bitter orange and sea salt.
