Ardnamurchan The Midgie is a Highlands single malt in a 70cl bottle. It is named after the midge, the small and notorious Scottish insect that every hillwalker knows well, and it is made from a mix of peated and unpeated malt.
The whisky was matured in a selection of casks that includes ex-ruby port, ex-bourbon and ex-sherry.
The nose is sweet and smoky, with honey, citrus, vanilla and a light marine note. On the palate it is soft and bright, with gentle peat, caramel, delicate spice and dried fruit, leading to a long, slightly salty and smoky finish.
