A malt-rich blended Scotch whisky in a 700ml bottle, non-chill filtered and of natural colour at 48% ABV. Chief Blender Calum Fraser worked with Suntory's Japanese blending team, sampling close to 200 expressions before settling on the recipe.
The malts come from Laphroaig, Bowmore and Glen Garioch, along with The Macallan, Glenrothes and Highland Park. They are married in a solera system, with malt ratios adjusted by as little as 0.1%.
The nose is creamy, with apple, pear, ripe plum and soft smoke. The palate moves from wood spice and citrus to vanilla custard and crème brûlée, and the finish is medium-long, with black pepper, baked pear tart and gentle peat smoke.
