An Armagnac from Gascony, made in the classic style and aged in oak casks. It has a full, velvety structure.
The nose opens with dried and candied fruit, including plum, fig and apricot, followed by cooked fruit and ripe plums, then vanilla, toffee, honey, toasted wood, sweet spice, caramel and light tobacco. The palate brings dried fruit, mature citrus and jam, toasted wood and vanilla, ending in a warm, slightly spicy and persistent finish with honey, dates and old wood.
It is suited to slow sipping as a digestif, or with dark chocolate, toasted nuts, aged cheese or a quality cigar.
