Arran 25 Year Old is a single malt from Lochranza Distillery on the Isle of Arran, released annually in a run of 3,000 bottles. It is bottled at 46% with natural colour and without chill filtration.
The whisky spent 25 years in ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks, followed by a final year in sherry hogsheads. The first 25 year old was bottled in 2021.
The nose brings rich oak, nutmeg, baked figs, sultanas and black cherries. The palate runs to fruit cake, toasted almonds, orange and mandarin zest, manuka honey and white pepper. The finish is creamy and spicy, with dark chocolate, walnuts and dark fruit compote.
