Machrie Moor is a medium-peated single malt from the Isle of Arran, distilled at Lochranza and bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Its smoke sits at 20 ppm, and it is said to offer more than tar and quayside character alone.
It takes its name from a windswept peat moor on Arran's west coast. Among the Bronze Age standing stones there is one with a hole carved through it, and legend has the warrior Fingal tying his hound Bran to it. Isle of Arran Distillers set out to capture the island's rugged beauty in this bottling.
