Arran Quarter Cask is a cask strength single malt bottled at 56.2% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It spent seven years in first-fill bourbon casks, then moved into smaller 125 litre casks for a further two years, which brings more contact between spirit and wood.
The result is described as powerful yet balanced, with a bold oak influence alongside the distillery's fruity, malty character.
The nose offers fresh citrus, honey, coconut, vanilla and toasted oak with a little spice. The palate is rich and creamy, with sweet malt, tropical fruit, caramel and peppery oak spice. The finish is long and warming, with vanilla, spice and a slight nuttiness.
