Arran – Sauternes Cask (70cl, 50%)

This is a single malt from Arran, finished in casks that once held Sauternes, the sweet French dessert wine. It is bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle. The Sauternes casks bring a honeyed richness that sits alongside the bright, fruity character of the distillery's spirit. The nose is sweet and fragrant, with honey, apricots, peaches, white grapes and floral notes. On the palate it is rich and creamy, with tropical fruit, vanilla, caramelised sugar and a touch of ginger and nutmeg. The finish is long and smooth, with lingering honey, light oak and a hint of citrus zest.
