Arran Sherry Cask Malt – The Bodega (55.8%)

This is a single malt from the Arran distillery at Lochranza, bottled at a cask strength of 55.8% and nicknamed The Bodega. It was matured entirely in sherry hogsheads, which are 250 litre casks from Spain. The bottling returns to the style of some of the earliest Arran single malts, most of which were matured in sherry casks. The whisky is amber-gold in colour and is described as both powerful and elegant. The nose offers ripe figs and cherries. On the palate it is long and lasting, with dark chocolate, mandarins, more ripe figs and sweet spices, alongside plenty of Oloroso sherry character.
