This is Royal Reserve, a 20 year old blended Scotch whisky from Arthur Bell & Sons, bottled in the 1970s at 43% in a 75cl bottle. Bell's Extra Special was first marketed four years after Arthur Bell's death in 1900. Royal Reserve was one of several products added as the brand rose to the top of the market over the following 70 years. By the 1970s the company held 35% of its domestic market, with Extra Special the best-selling brand in Scotland. The firm acquired the Blair Athol and Dufftown distilleries in 1932, and Inchgower four years later.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
