Athrú Knocknarea is a 14 year old Irish single malt, named after the large hill in County Sligo on Ireland's west coast. It is bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle.
The whiskey was first aged in American oak casks and then finished in Oloroso sherry casks.
The tasting notes describe a nose of warming cedar and macadamia nut with a touch of fresh linen. The palate is sherried and sweet, with zesty orange, dense raisin and softly toasty barley. The finish brings almond, chocolate pears, lingering tobacco and peppercorn spice.
