Attems Pinot Grigio 2024 (75cl)

This is a 2024 Pinot Grigio from Attems, an estate in Friuli-Venezia Giulia with roots going back to 1106 and now owned by the Frescobaldi family. The grapes come from 110 acres of south-facing vineyards near Gorizia, sheltered from local winds. Roughly 10% of the must ferments at low temperature in wood barriques and the rest in stainless steel, followed by four months on the lees, which adds a creamy texture while keeping the wine crisp. It is soft straw yellow with green highlights. The nose shows green pear, white peach and lime blossom, with hints of wet stone or vanilla. The palate is fresh and light to medium in body, with balanced acidity and a subtle mineral edge.
