This is a 12 year old Auchentoshan, a Lowland single malt bottled in the 1980s in a 75cl bottle at 40% ABV. It dates from the Morrison Bowmore era of the distillery. Auchentoshan stands on the outskirts of Glasgow and is known for triple distillation. Tennents brewery owned it through the 1960s, then sold it to Eadie Cairns, who upgraded the site and began bottling it officially as a single malt. None of its output is held back for blends, which is why so many single cask and independent bottlings exist.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
