This is a 12 year old Lowland single malt from Auchentoshan, bottled at 40% ABV in a 75cl bottle. The distillery stands at Dalmuir, on the edge of Glasgow, and triple-distils all of its spirit.
The whisky is made from malted barley and matured in a combination of American bourbon casks and Oloroso sherry casks.
The nose offers creme brulee, toasted almonds, fresh citrus and caramelised toffee, with a green, leafy note. The palate is sweet and creamy, with tangerine, lime zest, almond and light toffee. The finish brings ginger warmth, a slightly drying texture and lingering nuttiness.
