Auchentoshan – 18 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 43%)

An 18 year old Lowland single malt from Auchentoshan, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is triple distilled and was matured in ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks. The bourbon casks contribute vanilla, honeyed sweetness and oak, while the sherry casks add richer dried-fruit and nutty character. The nose has ripe citrus, orchard fruit, vanilla, toasted nuts and polished oak, with touches of caramel. On the palate there is vanilla, honeyed malt, fruit, roasted nuts and warming spice with subtle sherry richness. The finish is long and gently warming, with oak, citrus and vanilla.
