This is a 30-year-old Lowland single malt from Auchentoshan, bottled by La Maison du Whisky as number 11 in its Artist series. It was distilled in 1991 and bottled in 2021 from a single hogshead, giving 164 bottles at a cask strength of 62.7% ABV. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
Auchentoshan triple distils its spirit, and this cask held it for three decades.
The nose opens with lavender and green peppercorn, then apple pie, cumin, almond, ripe mango and cinnamon bark. Pineapple and lychee come first on the palate, followed by apple jelly, beeswax, fig and date. The finish is very long, with citrus, coffee, ginger, roasted pineapple and chocolate, fading to floral notes.
