Auchentoshan – Virgin Oak Batch 2 (75cl, 46%)

Auchentoshan Virgin Oak Batch 2 is a Lowland single malt from Auchentoshan Distillery, just outside Glasgow, bottled at 46% in a 750ml bottle. It is the second batch in the Virgin Oak series, which was first released in winter 2013. The whisky is triple distilled and was matured entirely in new North American oak casks that had never been used before. The nose brings vanilla, coconut, zesty citrus, toasted almonds and caramelised toffee. The palate is rich and spicy, with kiwi, oranges and apples, and the finish is well balanced, with warm spice and spiced pears.
