Augusta Old Route 8 Cask Strength 8 Year Old Straight Bourbon Whiskey (75cl)

Old Route 8 is the first bourbon from Augusta Distillery, a single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon in a 750ml bottle. It was distilled at an undisclosed Kentucky distillery, then bottled by Augusta in Augusta, Kentucky. The mash bill is 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley, and the whiskey spent eight years in new charred American oak. Strength and character can vary from one barrel to the next. It won a gold medal at the 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. The nose offers maple sugar candy, smoked cedar and dehydrated lemon. On the palate come crème brulee and an edge of saltwater taffy, leading to a sharp finish of arugula and white pepper.
