Backbone Bone Snapper Rye Whiskey (75cl, 54%)

Backbone Bone Snapper is a straight rye whiskey bottled at 54% ABV, in a 750ml bottle. It is the original rye from Backbone Bourbon Company, first sold in Indiana in 2011. The mash is 95% rye and 5% malted barley, distilled in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Sourced barrels are blended, and the whiskey is bottled non-chill filtered. There is no age statement; the company aims to bottle after around 30 months in oak. Cinnamon, rye bread and leather lead on the nose. The palate brings anise, orange peel and marmalade, and the finish is bold, with a lively zing and a comforting warmth.
