Backbone Bourbon Prime (75cl, 52%)

Backbone Bourbon Prime is a blended American whiskey from Backbone Bourbon Company, bottled at 52% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It combines straight bourbons of different ages with straight rye and a small amount of 16 year old light whiskey. The whiskey was distilled in Indiana, and the recipe varies from batch to batch. Caramel, oak and dark cherry lead on the nose. The palate opens with sweet vanilla, then moves to baking spices, black pepper and a flicker of habanero and jalapeño honey. The finish is long and spicy, smooth, with an almost maple sweetness.
