Backbone Bourbon Uncut (75cl)

Backbone Bourbon Uncut is a straight bourbon bottled at barrel strength, in a 75cl bottle. It was the first release from Backbone Bourbon Company, introduced in 2010. It is bottled in 10-barrel batches with minimal filtration and no added water, so the strength varies a little from batch to batch, usually between 114 and 117 proof. The mash bill is 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley, and the whiskey is typically aged for five to six years. It was distilled in Indiana and bottled in Bardstown, Kentucky. The official notes describe fresh oak and vanilla on the nose, then a rich palate of caramel and oak. The finish is smooth, warm and decadent, with the rye keeping the sweetness in check.
