Backbone Bourbon Uncut (75cl, 58%)

Backbone Bourbon Uncut is a barrel-strength straight bourbon distilled at Lawrenceburg Distillers Indiana. It is bottled at 58% ABV in a 750ml bottle, with no added water and no chill filtration. The mashbill is 70% corn, 25% rye and 5% malted barley, and the bourbon is aged for just under four years. Around ten barrels are selected for each batch and bottled straight from the cask, so every batch has its own character. The nose is earthy, with citrus peel and vanilla. On the palate come vanilla and burnt sugar, then hot caramel, nutmeg and apple pie. The finish is long and warming, with carob, blackstrap molasses and a trace of rye spice.
