Backbone 'The Forge' Blended Bourbon (75cl, 55%)

Backbone 'The Forge' is a blended bourbon from the Backbone Bourbon Company of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, bottled at 55% ABV in a 75cl bottle. The blend is built around the company's oldest stocks. A majority of 5 to 7 year old straight bourbon is combined with straight rye aged 8 years or more and light whiskey aged 14 years or more, some of it barrelled as far back as 2006. It won a silver medal at the 2024 Bartender Spirits Awards. The tasting notes describe a layered whiskey with deep caramel and oak, rye spice through the middle and a long finish. A few drops of water bring out lighter fruit.
