Baker's 7 Year is a single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 53.5% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is made at the Jim Beam distillery in Clermont and named after Baker Beam, a sixth-generation member of the Beam family.
Each bottle comes from one barrel of new charred American oak. The mashbill is 77% corn, 13% rye and 10% malted barley, and the bourbon uses a yeast strain kept for this expression alone.
The nose is typically described as ripe dark fruit, toffee, baking spice and peanut butter. The palate is nutty and full-bodied, with roasted peanut and dark butterscotch, and the finish is long and warming, with coffee and oak char.
