Baker's 7 Year Old is a Kentucky straight bourbon drawn from a single barrel after at least seven years in new charred American oak. It is bottled at 53.5% (107 proof) in a 750ml bottle.
It is made at the Jim Beam distillery in Clermont and named after Baker Beam, a retired sixth-generation distiller and grandnephew of Jim Beam. The yeast strain has been kept within the Beam family for over 60 years. Since 2019 each neck tag gives the barrel's warehouse, floor, rack and exact age.
The nose is caramel, vanilla bean, toasted oak and gentle baking spice. The palate is full-bodied, with butterscotch, brown sugar and toasted grain. The finish is long, warming and lightly spicy, with vanilla and oak.
