This is a 17 year old Balblair, a Highland single malt distilled in 2008 and bottled under the Decadent Drams label. It matured in a first fill bourbon barrel and was bottled at 56.5%, with 172 bottles drawn from the cask.
It is described as rich and naturally sweet, in the manner of an older style of Balblair, with layers of honeyed fruit, vanilla cream soda and gorse. Lemon curd adds a bright citrus lift, alongside a faint coastal freshness.
