Balblair 18 Year Old is a Highland single malt bottled at 46% in a 750ml bottle. It is natural colour and non-chill filtered.
The whisky spends eighteen years maturing, first in American oak ex-bourbon casks and then in first-fill Spanish oak butts. It belongs to the core range introduced in 2019, when the Edderton distillery, founded in 1790, moved from vintage-only releases to age statements.
The nose is rich toffee and baked pears with a thread of new leather. The palate is juicy, with ripe apricots, seasoned oak and vanilla custard, and the long, warming finish brings fresh spice and raisins.
