Balcones Lineage is a Texas single malt whiskey that sets the inspiration of traditional Scotch single malts beside new approaches to grain and maturation. It is made from both Scottish and Texas-grown barley and aged in both refill and new oak barrels.
The nose is sweet, with sourdough starter, cream soda, mulled cider, bruised bananas and peaches, and tea tree. The palate shows caramelised sweetness, soft oak, manuka honey, chestnuts and a hint of red wine reduction. The finish carries more tea tree, with black tea and a hint of cinnamon.
