Balcones – Lineage Texas Single Malt Whisky

A Texas single malt from Balcones that takes its inspiration from traditional Scotch single malts and applies its own approach to grain and maturation. It is made from both Scottish and Texas-grown barley and aged in both refill and new oak barrels. The nose is sweet, with sourdough starter, cream soda, mulled cider, bruised bananas and peaches, and tea tree. The palate has caramelised sweetness, soft oak, Manuka honey, chestnuts and a hint of red wine reduction. The finish carries a slight prickle with more tea tree, black tea and a hint of cinnamon.
