Ballantine's 17 Year Old (70cl)

Ballantine's 17 Year Old is a blended Scotch whisky, sold in a 70cl bottle. The nose opens with lemon, pear drops and floral notes, alongside creamy caramel, stem ginger, honey and tinned fruit, before smoky, slightly tarry peat comes through. Clean grain and fruit sit together, and in the glass the lemon fades a little as the peat takes more of the lead. On the palate there is mineral, smoky peat with citrus, honey, grapefruit and lime peel, pear drop sweets and stem ginger. The finish brings slight tarry peat, citrus, stem ginger and volcanic rock.
