This is a 17 year old Ballechin, a heavily peated Highland single malt made at the Edradour distillery. It was distilled on 25 July 2008 and matured in a first-fill Ruby Port hogshead, cask 179, before bottling in 2026 at a cask strength of 57.9%. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The nose combines dense peat with ripe blackberries, dark cherries and a touch of honey. On the palate the sweetness of the port meets walnut and charred fruit, and the long finish brings bitter-sweet chocolate and warm oak.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
