This is a single pot still Irish whiskey from Ballykeefe Distillery, in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV.
The nose is warm and inviting, with toffee caramel, soft vanilla from the oak, malted cereal and a touch of coconut. On the palate, rich earthy malt comes in a wave, carrying sweet, spicy notes of liquorice, clove, nuts and green cardamom. A small splash of water deepens the malt flavours and brings out a silkier texture.
The finish is long and malty, giving way to clove-studded oranges and aniseed.
