This Balmenach 13 Year Old is a single cask Speyside malt from Spiritfilled's Mythical Beasts range, released as Nyami Nyami after the legendary river spirit. It was finished in an Oloroso sherry hogshead and bottled at 59.2% in a 70cl bottle, with natural colour and without chill filtration. The release is 263 bottles.
Neat, the nose is toffee, caramel and clotted cream fudge with stewed orchard fruit, and the palate turns to treacle, dried figs, dark chocolate and espresso. The finish is long, warming and slightly drying, with oak spice and bitter chocolate.
With water, red cherry, cranberry and orange zest come forward.
