Balvenie 12 Year Old Home Malted is a limited-edition Speyside single malt, released as part of The 1931 Collection. It is made entirely from home-malted barley, in recognition of the distillery's floor malting. The whisky is matured in American oak, then finished in European oak ex-sherry butts from Jerez. It is bottled at 47.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is honeyed malt, toasted cereal and warm biscuit, with vanilla and dried fruit. The palate shows creamy honey and malt, soft toffee, ginger and dried fruit. The finish is rich and velvety, with honey, toasted cereal, raisin and aromatic oak.
