Balvenie DoubleWood is a 12 year old single malt Scotch whisky in a 750ml bottle. It is aged in refill American oak casks and then finished in first-fill European oak sherry casks.
The bourbon-cask character comes through as gentle spice and a little vanilla, with a hint of peat sitting quietly underneath. Dried fruit, nuts, nutmeg and cinnamon follow, blending back into the bourbon notes.
