Balvenie – 12 Year Old DoubleWood is a single malt whisky from Balvenie (Speyside). Aged 12 years, bottled at 40% ABV, 70cl.
First launched in 1993, The Balvenie 12 Year Old DoubleWood was created by Malt Master David C. Stewart. Whisky matured for at least 12 years in American oak ex-bourbon casks is then transferred to Spanish oak Oloroso sherry casks for a further nine months finishing, before being married together in tuns for three to four months. The result has proved popular with whisky lovers for more than a quarter of a century.
