Balvenie 12 Year Old Montilla is a single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 47.3% ABV. It is part of a collection of single cask releases selected by Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie.
The whisky was distilled in 2012 and matured for 12 years in European oak, then finished in Montilla wine casks from southern Spain.
The nose shows barley sugar, honey and toasted oak. The palate opens with candied sweetness, moving to rich vanilla oak, warm spice and dried apricot. The finish combines gentle sweetness with lingering spice and balanced oak.
