Balvenie 14 Year Caribbean Cask is a Speyside single malt from the distillery in Dufftown, bottled at 43% ABV. It spends its first 14 years in traditional oak whisky casks before a finishing period in Caribbean rum casks that are still lightly coated in rum.
The distillery grows its own barley on the Balvenie Estate, malts on site using traditional floor maltings and employs its own coppersmith to look after the stills.
The nose is honey, vanilla cream, fresh banana and a hint of toffee. The palate is smooth and warming, with honeyed malt, ripe banana, brown sugar, coconut and gentle oak spice. The medium-long finish is warm and sweet, with vanilla and fading tropical fruit.
